The million dollar question is always, "Will this cost me a million dollars?"
There always seems to be trends to the inquiries that pop-up in my inbox. As of lately, I've been receiving many requests for bathroom remodels. The people of Portland, Oregon are ready to remodel their bathrooms!
As families embark on this journey there are so many questions that they have--and so much anxiety too!
And rightfully so. Home remodels are so gratifying, but damn if they're not stressful. We're all wired to fear the unexpected and home remodels are just that, a lot of unexpected stuff!
You can set yourself up for a smooth process by prepping for the big unknowns.
How much will it cost?
How long will it take?
Where will I get my new vanity?
What kind of lighting?
Who will be making the decisions and keep track of things?
The million dollar question is always, "Will this cost a million dollars?"
Forbes.com recently found that on average, bathroom remodels cost about $10,000. The most budget-friendly remodel can be done for $2,500 (the DIY approach), while high-end projects can be upwards of $30,000. You can expect to spend between $70 to $250 per square foot to renovate your bathroom, depending on what type of upgrades you choose.
There is always a range when we talk about price. Here is the range of what you can expect to spend on the elements in your bathroom. In general, fixtures and finishes will be about 10%-15% of your budget.
