This throw is a perfect way to bring traditional Andean culture to your home. Each throw is handmade by women weavers in the highlands of Cusco, Peru. This textile was woven on a back-strap loom, an ancient technique that spans millennia. It takes about a month to complete a textile of this size. This throw is made from the loving fibers of the artisans' sheep. All of the dyes in this throw are made from the plants and insects that can be found near the artisans home. This throw is 100% natural and of course, 100% lovely.
This textile is justly made. I work in partnership with Threads of Peru, a fair trade certified organization that supports a variety of indigenous weaving communities in the highlands of Cusco, Peru. I pay the artisans a wage in accordance to fair trade standards. Buying this throw allows us to provide continual work to these artisan communities.
